2020 comes to an end. I managed to post every week for the full year like I had set out to do. Even though I had to force myself to sit down and draw something plenty of times, even though there are plenty of pieces that in my opinion didn’t turn out good, even though I didn’t “accomplish” a larger side project, didnt properly set up a shop, didn’t create a portfolio-website, didnt… . Even though all of that, I look back at those 53 posts (and a few more artworks that I never posted) and I am happier with them than I would be without them.

It’s the first day of my end-of-the-year vacation. There will be two more posts this year of course but I wanted to say some quick thanks to all the people who stuck with me through the personal challenges of this year. Thank you to all of you who stuck around when I decided to just draw goofy animals for the rest of the year. Thank you to all of you who helped and continue to help me navigate through panic attacks & severe depression and who helped in so many ways from just being there for me to aiding me to find professional help for mind and body. Thank you to all the artists that I get the opportunity to work with (and producers & management). Thank you to all of you who expressed your sympathies when we suddenly had to let go of our dog, Elmo. Thank you to my extended family and friends. Thank you to my wife.
And last but not least, thank you to all of you who suffer through my dad jokes.
What do you call a fly with no wings?

One of my favorite things to do as a child when we were baking Christmas cookies was to dip things into sugar sprinkles. Didn’t matter what kind of cookie it was, in my eyes, every cookie benefited from sugar sprinkles!

With temperatures dropping it feels appropriate to do a winter themed illustration. No snow on the horizon yet in Berlin though, unfortunately. I prefer snow-white winter over just grey wet cold winter berlin.
